  • Catherine West

    MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT FOR HORNSEY AND FRIERN BARNET

    Catherine West was selected as the Labour candidate for Hornsey and Wood Green in the 2015 General Election. Taking the seat back from the Liberal Democrats for the first time since 2001, Catherine increased Labour's majority in 2017 and 2019. In 2024, Catherine won the newly-created Hornsey and Friern Barnet constituency with 57.8% of the vote and a 21,475 vote majority, making it the second safest Labour seat in the country.

  • Sadiq Kahn

    MAYOR OF LONDON

    Hornsey and Wood Green were one of 42 CLPs to nominate Sadiq Khan to become Labour's candidate for Mayor of London in 2015. In 2016, Sadiq was elected with 57% of the vote. He became the third London Mayor and is London's first Muslim and first ethnic minority mayor. He was re-elected in 2021 and 2024, becoming the first London mayor to serve three terms in office.

  • Joanne McCartney

    LONDON ASSEMBLY MEMBER FOR HARINGEY AND ENFIELD

    Joanne McCartney was elected to the London Assembly for Enfield and Haringey in 2004 and has served as the Assembly Member ever since. Winning the seat with a majority of 1400 in 2008, Joanne has increased her margins to a record of 51,152 votes (in 2016).

    As Statutory Deputy Mayor of London and Deputy Mayor for Education and Childcare since 2016, McCartney has led work on the universal free school meals programme and the Young Londoners fund and worked to create "Early Years Hubs" for disadvantaged children. As an Assembly Member, she has campaigned on rail devolution upgrades to the Piccadilly Line and child poverty.


  • Anne Clarke

    LONDON ASSEMBLY MEMBER FOR BARNET AND CAMDEN

    A Barnet councillor since 2018, Anne Clarke was elected as the Assembly Member for Barnet and Camden in 2021 and increased her majority in 2024.

    Clarke is the Labour spokesperson for Fire at the London Assembly, advocating for firefighters' pay and conditions, lobbying for Londoners still living in homes with unsafe cladding, and advocating for all recommendations from the Grenfell Tower Inquiry be implemented. In Barnet, Anne is the cabinet member for Culture, Arts and Sports.

  • Peray Ahmet

    LEADER OF HARINGEY COUNCIL

    A councillor for Noel Park since 2014, Peray became the Leader of Haringey Council in May 2021.

  • Barry Rawlings

    LEADER OF BARNET COUNCIL

    A councillor for Friern Barnet since 1998, Barry led Barnet Labour Group to its first victory in 2022, securing the election of 40 Labour councillors out Barnet's total of 63 seats. Barry has since served as the Leader of Barnet Council.
